Optimisation Algorithm for Recurrent Optical System
The above figure shows a Fourier holographic projection system which contains optical conponents,
a CCD, a digital micromirror device (DMD) for displaying comptuter-generated holograms (CGH). We change the DMD pixel arrangement
based on our optimisation algorithm and use the CCD to capture the light-field distribution. After a number of iterations of the
process, an optimised pixel arrangement can be found in this recurrent optical system. The DMD pixel arrangement and the light-field
distribution are shown in the bottom-left and bottom-right, respectively. The final pixel arrangement is an optimised CGH of
the object image, a letter A, and the final light-field distribution shows its reconstructed image (since the system uses DMD,
an amplitude-type SLM, the reconstructed image has its conjugate).
